The older streets are rows of late Victorian and Edwardian mill workers’ terraces, with semis, newer executive homes and larger detached houses towards the edges of town. The converted Brierfield Mill, now called Northlight, adds 85 two-bedroom apartments.
Getting around
Brierfield station has hourly trains to Burnley, Preston and Colne, Monday to Saturday. Junction 12 of the M65 is on the doorstep, and the Leeds and Liverpool Canal towpath runs through the town.
Local amenities
Northlight completed in 2024 and brings a gym, adult learning centre, offices and creative space into the old mill. Marsden Heights Community College and several primary schools serve local families, and new crossings and public space are being added on Halifax Road and around the town centre.
